MANILA: Philippines Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana estimates that the army will need to have “a thirty day period or two” far more to end the siege on the southern town of Marawi held by Islamist militants.
The undertaking would be “complicated, but (Marawi) will be liberated”, he explained, soon right before the Philippine army introduced on Thursday that it was in its “last lap” of functions in opposition to the militants.
