Trump declares countrywide emergency on opioid abuse

BEDMINSTER, N.J.: U.S. President Donald Trump declared the opioid epidemic a countrywide emergency on Thursday and claimed his administration was drafting papers to make it formal.

“The opioid crisis is an emergency and I’m saying officially correct now it is an emergency,” Trump advised reporters. “We’re heading to draw it up and we’re heading to make it a countrywide emergency. It is a significant problem, the likes of which we have by no means experienced.”
