Kenya election commission: Kenyatta winner of presidential ballot


The Kenya election commission on Friday declared incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta had received a second and final 5-yr term in this week’s polls, despite opposition objections more than the fairness of the vote.

NAIROBI: The Kenya election commission on Friday declared incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta had received a second and final 5-yr term in this week’s polls, despite opposition objections more than the fairness of the vote.

Kenyatta took 54.27 p.c of the vote, and opposition leader Raila Odinga took 44.seventy four p.c, mentioned election commission head Wafula Chebukati.
