Syrian army secures Islamic Condition-held city in Homs province – condition media


Syrian government forces seized entire handle of the past big city in Homs province held by Islamic Condition, Syrian condition media reported on Saturday, as the army and its allies press a multi-pronged advance into japanese locations held by the jihadist group.

BEIRUT: Syrian government forces seized entire handle of the past big city in Homs province held by Islamic Condition, Syrian condition media reported on Saturday, as the army and its allies press a multi-pronged advance into japanese locations held by the jihadist group.

Syrian condition media cited a armed service supply stating Islamic Condition militants had been killed and their weapons wrecked at the city of al-Sukhna, some fifty km (thirty miles) northeast of the historical metropolis of Palmyra.

The city is also located some fifty km (thirty miles) from the provincial boundary of Deir al-Zor province, Islamic State’s past big foothold in Syria and a big target for the Syrian government.

The jihadists have missing swathes of Syrian territory to different strategies becoming waged by government forces backed by Russia and Iran, and by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic (SDF) Forces, which is dominated by the Kurdish YPG militia. The SDF is now concentrated on capturing Raqqa metropolis from Islamic Condition.

Syrian government forces advancing from the west have not too long ago crossed into Deir al-Zor province from southern locations of Raqqa province.

Islamic Condition controls just about all of Deir al-Zor province, which is bordered to the east by Iraq. The Syrian government nonetheless controls a pocket of territory in Deir al-Zor metropolis, and a nearby armed service base.
